1. Purpose

The UpClass platform acts as an intermediary between students (or their legal guardians) and private math tutors.
It facilitates:

  • Connection between users

  • Booking management

  • Payment processing

  • Lesson tracking

2. Platform Role

  • UpClass is not the employer or direct service provider of the lessons.

  • Each lesson is conducted by an independent tutor selected by the platform.

  • UpClass collects service and management fees through its micro-enterprise.

3. Pricing

All prices displayed on the website include:

  • Tutor’s remuneration

  • UpClass service fees (connection, support, and management)

💶 Prices are in euros, tax included (TTC).
🧾 The business is exempt from VAT under Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.

4. Booking and Payment

  • Bookings are made through the availability calendar on the platform.

  • A booking is only confirmed after secure online payment via Stripe or PayPal.

  • No reservation is validated without prior payment.

5. Right of Withdrawal

According to Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code:

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Refund Policy below.

  • Personal data (e.g., name, email, bookings) is collected solely for service delivery.

  • All data is processed in accordance with GDPR regulations.

8. Liability

  • UpClass ensures a basic verification of tutor competencies.

  • However, it cannot guarantee the educational quality of individual lessons.

  • In case of disputes, mediation may be offered.

9. Applicable Law

These T&Cs are governed by French law.
In case of conflict:

  1. Parties will first attempt to resolve the matter amicably.

  2. If unresolved, the dispute will be submitted to the competent French courts.

🔁 Refund Policy – UpClass

Tailored to online math tutoring services

1. Cancellation by the Student

  • More than 24 hours before the lesson:
    ✅ Full refund or option to reschedule

  • Less than 24 hours before the lesson:
    ❌ No refund, except in justified cases (e.g., illness) — proof required

2. Student No-Show or Late Arrival

  • If the student is absent without notice or arrives over 15 minutes late,
    ➡️ the lesson is considered lost
    ❌ No refund will be issued

3. Cancellation by the Tutor

  • In the event of a tutor-initiated cancellation:
    ✅ The lesson will be fully refunded or rescheduled at no extra cost

4. Technical Issues

  • If a technical issue (e.g., internet outage, audio/mic problem) prevents the session:
    🔁 The lesson can be rescheduled free of charge
    📩 The issue must be reported the same day via email

5. Refund Process

  • Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days via the original payment method
